The Hluhluwe Rhino Route is an area of the Elephant Coasts Region, rich in Zulu culture, wildlife, agriculture, and tourism.
It boasts the oldest game reserve in Africa, and a world heritage site. It stretches from the Hluhluwe River in the south to the Msunduzi River in the North, West to include Hluhluwe/Imfolozi Game Reserve and East to False Bay Park.
Within this region lie a variety of country living to Big 5 accommodation venues from where you can explore game parks, Wetlands, lakes and beaches.
Between this biodiversity you will find a route with art studios, museums, curio stores, farm stalls, fresh produce road markets, traditional Zulu villages, a reptile and crocodile park, Craft beer brewery, restaurants and cafes, a craft Gin distillery, a Cheetah and wild cat sanctuary, Elephant interaction, farmers markets, boating, fishing, pineapple farm tours, walks and tails and Mountain Bike routes.
Hluhluwe is home to cattle, game farming and the largest producer of the Victoria Queen pineapple in South Africa.
Just east of Hluhluwe is False Bay Park, which forms part of the Greater St Lucia wetland park, a renowned world heritage site which offers Estuarine fishing, walking trails, fossilised Coral points, picnic sites, camping and an ancient sand forest.
